QRPme has existed in 2 small spaces: a small shop in my quonsut hut and a slightly larger space
in my basement. The level of sales and hence kitting activity took a BIG jump with the addition
of the Rockmite][ kit to my line. This past summer, I rented a larger commercial space up in the
center of Limerick. I have been spent most of my 'free' time since this summer doing the build-out
and getting more organized in the new space. Last event I attended was Nearfest at the Deerfield
NH Fairgrounds back in October. It started to pour just as I was setting up my space so I abandoned
the idea of selling anything and cruised the 'fest looking for bargins! That was a little
problematic as I only had about $40 in my pocket that I had brought to make change. I bumped into
a Lobstercon FRIEND WHO I hadn't seen at a hamfest for quite a while! He actually had money in his
pocket and was shopping for a new rig. We walked the whole 'fest and when we got back to my space,
I already owed him $40 for some things that I couldn't live without! Once I got back to my car, I
quickly put together a Rockmite][ & enclosure package that I quickly sold to Bruce Beford at a
good deal price so I could instantly absolve my debt!
That was 3 months ago! Getting kinda antsy now and need a good hamfest 'fix'!
On my radar are: THE Orlando Hamcation, Ham-con in Burlington, VT and WinterFest down in Vienna VA.
Orlando requires $$ which are in short supply right now! Burlington and Vienna are much more
affordable trips so they are looking pretty good! More news here once something develops....
