I really like that CENTO anchovy tin, as you MIGHT already know, and since the 3rd Buildathon was a receiver-o in a tin, I really needed to match it up with a transmitter-o!

So the HamXposition will be TWO, TWO, TWO kits in one Buildathon! One kit to build at the HamXposition and another possible homework kit to build if you didn"t get to finish it AT the HamXposition....

The first Buildathon kit is a version of the infamous Oner transmitter originally designed by George Burt, G3OXX. It is a simple little rig which is perfect for a live stream or convention Buildathon session. I designed the board to fit perfectly in the CENTO flat anchovies tin, YELLOW & BLUE, to complement the CENTO Receivo kit from my QRPme LIVE streamed Buildathon #3. The second half of the Buildathon is a 40m low pass filter for the 40m . This kit will be built Manhattan style on a nice little prototype board I laid out to fit those lovely anchovy tins! More on this kit later.

You can search the web...or specifically the GQRP Club files (SPRAT"s). The one square inch circuit board. While that is cute it really doesn"t help the situation in a Buildathon. So I spread the parts out to fit the CENTO anchovy tin. I did a manual area calculation of the tin/pcb and came up with a decent approximation of 7.07 (Charley Armentrout would object to the last 7) square inches. So I called it the CENTO x-1er-O now 7.07er.

I will have SPARE tools but not enough for everybody....so bring what kit building tools you have. A decent iron or station, small flush cutters and needle nose pliers, portable battery operated worklight, hand magnifier or head visor if your vision requires augmentation. Please let me know in advance if you require a soldering iron in order for me to have enough for those in need....
