This item is for the newest kit in QRPme*s Rockmite lineup.
The Rockmite][++ is an upgraded version of the popular Rockmite][ transceiver kit.
Features:
All connectors and controls mounted on the pcb so no more clunky wiring issues.
Quick change the band by swapping the low pass filter module.
Quick change the 2 crystals, oscillator and receive filter, by swapping the crystal module.
Board easily slips into our new extruded aluminum case.
Power & efficiency MODIFICATIONS are now standard parts.
40m version tested at 700+ mW as stock build.
Initially sold as 40m version but other band modules will be added as soon as the parts arrive...(days not weeks or years)
Basic 40m kit comes with all parts for:
the main board
40m low pass filter board
2 crystal boards including 7030 crystals and 71xx crystals (depending upon current crystal stock)
2 bare crystal boards for rolling your own...
Building details:
Build the same as the "regular" Rockmite as the parts are practically the same with almost the same numbering.
C14 & L1 are not used.
D3 is installed into a little socket made from SIP pins.
The main difference is that I moved all the frequency dependent parts onto the 2 band modules.
The crystal band module is built using 2 straight male headers with the crystals mounted "flat" in line with the pcb.
The LPF module uses right angle male headers and stands perpendicular to the main pcb.
The LPF module is built using the data gleamed from the 40m P&E module docs as I incorporated that circuitry & parts to get max output power..
No cabling is required as I replaced all the off board bulkhead mount connectors and controls with pcb mount versions.
